Newborn Portraits Broadbridge Heath | Baby Ava, 9 days old

sleeping baby girl newborn portraits Broadbridge Heath

When the gorgeous Ava Rose came into the studio she was 9 days old for her Newborn Portraits Broadbridge Heath. So she was the perfect age for newborn portraits. It’s during the first two weeks after birth that we have the maximum opportunity to capture all those adorable curled-up, sleepy baby images.  And that is exactly what we did. With newborn photography, some poses are positioned with expert, gentle handling. Some are created by carefully editing a composite image, after the photoshoot. Rest assured, baby’s safety and comfort is paramount at all times. No photograph, no matter how adorable, is more important than your newborn.

Ava Rose looked simply beautiful with the palette of soft pinks and yellows that I had selected for her session. And how could I not incorporate some roses and other florals too into her session? Just perfect for her pretty name. Using the gentle colours with a mix of soft textures and cosy knits, and a super-sweet felted animal, the studio was warm and welcoming for Ava’s newborn portraits Broadbridge Heath.

Newborn Portraits

We take our time with newborn sessions to ensure that mother (and father) and baby are relaxed. Newborn sessions can last up to four hours. This gives us plenty of time for settling your baby, top-up feeds, nappy changes, and of course plenty of cuddles. We want baby to be calm and settled. Baby will pick up on any tension so the portrait session is unhurried. There is no rush.

I am also more than happy to take pictures with the parents as well. In fact, I encourage parents to get involved, to capture you all as a new family together. Not only is this something for you to look back on and cherish. But it will creating a future memory for your new baby. Before your session we advise you on what to expect and what you need to bring with you on the day. But if you have any questions then just get in touch.

Baby Whisperer?

Although a little reluctant to go to sleep straight away, Ava soon settled down into a deep sleep after some expert Samphire swaddling. But not before we captured a few fabulous awake shots. I particularly love the one in the selection, below, of her awake. A real knowing look on little Ava’s face as if to say…”Hey, so you think you are going to get me to sleep”! Well, I have plenty of patience as well as years of experience, and it actually didn’t take long. Soon Ava was sleeping soundly. Which enabled me to work through my set of images with ease.

As well as props and wraps, I do like to incorporate a range of hats and headbands to my sessions for newborn portraits Broadbridge Heath. One on my favourite suppliers is Wild Thistle Props, which is where the first bejewelled headband is from. But if the embellished headwear is something you don’t like then always say.  Similarly, if there is a particular colour you would like to include (or avoid!) in the photoshoot then please do let me know. So that I can create images for you to cherish forever.

I captured a stunning gallery of images for Ava’s mum & dad, who absolutely loved them. “Thank you again for the fabulous photos of Ava.”

Here are some of my favourite images from her newborn portrait session. Enjoy.

Welcome to the world, beautiful girl xx

Newborn portraits Broadbridge Heath

Newborn portraits are such a great way to capture your newborn’s first few weeks. Here at Samphire Photography, I photograph children and babies from all over Sussex and Surrey. In fact, Ava’s mum found my website whilst searching for newborn photography in the Surrey/Sussex area. So if you are travelling to me from Warnham, West Chiltington or Wisborough Green, it’s good to know I have a warm and welcoming studio, all set up and ready for you. There is an off-road parking space too, so you can take your little ones out of the car in safety.

The studio itself is a relaxing space, where you can help yourself to a cup of tea or coffee. You even get to drink it while it’s still hot, as I will be taking care of everything with your baby. The studio is kept at a toasty temperature for baby’s comfort, so sit back, relax, chat, or even snooze!

If you would like some more information with regards to newborn studio portraits then check out my newborn photography page which gives you a great insight into how the sessions run.
