Totally pretty in pink for delightful little Mollie, who came in to the Samphire studio for her baby portraits Billingshurst when she was two weeks old. Her mum booked in after a recommendation by a friend. Wow! What a compliment. Let me just say, there’s not much better than a recommendation from a happy client!

Beautiful baby Mollie was a total poppet. Quite often I am lucky enough to be able to capture very early newborn smiles, and contrary to belief they are not all wind! Babies will often smile in their sleep and although this is not the social smile that develops at around 6-8 weeks (which definitely classes as their first smile as they are doing this in response to you), these sleepy newborn smiles are super cute and melt your heart nevertheless. How wonderful that baby Mollie was in the studio for her baby portraits Billingshurst when she decided to smile in her sleep just when my camera was ready to capture it.
This lovely girl was totally relaxed during her newborn session. I used a subtle palette of gentle pinks and soft blues for her portraits, and a mix of delicate florals and cosy knits. With the addition of some beautiful headbands which so suited her complexion. Her skin was just like porcelain, such a beautiful English Rose. Welcome to the world, Mollie!

Here at Samphire Photography, I photograph children and babies from all over Sussex and Surrey. Baby portraits Billingshurst are such a great way to capture your newborn’s first few weeks. So if you are travelling to me from Warnham, Westcott or Wisborough Green, it’s good to know I have a warm and welcoming studio, all set up and ready for you. There is an off-road parking space too, so you can take your little ones out of the car in safety.
The studio itself is a relaxing space, where you can help yourself to a cup of tea or coffee. You even get to drink it while it’s still hot, as I will be taking care of everything with your baby. The studio is kept at a toasty temperature for baby’s comfort, so sit back, relax, chat, or even snooze!

Babies of All Ages
Newborn photoshoots generally take place when your little one is up to 2 weeks old, but I photograph newborn babies up to a month. So, if you have missed the first 2 weeks window, then do still get in touch. The session lasts between 2-4 hours. This allows plenty of time for getting baby off to sleep, top-up feeds and cuddles of course.
For slightly older babies, a Newborn mini session would be ideal. These are great for little ones up to 8 weeks old. The session lasts up to one hour and are undertaken while your baby is fully wrapped.
Older still? Consider a styled family session. These are focussed much more on your family unit but of course will include some portraits of your baby on their own. Whether you are looking for relaxed images or something more formal, I work closely with you to ensure we get images that reflect your family at their best.
And for those that have little ones that are sitting up without support, then a Milestone session could be ideal for you. This is another of my favourite ages to photograph babies at. At this stage babies may be sitting up or lifting themselves up onto all fours. Bringing opportunities to pose them sitting in our vintage baskets or tin bathtub. These sessions are fun and focus on capturing the personality of your little one!
