Little Oliver’s parents wanted a jungle cake smash, to match in with the theme they had chosen for his birthday party. Such a great idea! With all my cake smashes I ask parents beforehand what they would like the theme and/or colours to be for their session. I was over the moon with the idea of a jungle cake smash as this was a new theme for me, so was totally happy to immerse myself in all things wild. I particularly love the fake cheese plant leaves, and the animal print balloons are just fab. Mum brought in his fantastic giraffe-print outfit and although he was a little reluctant to keep his hat one – as most children are! – we did manage to capture a few shots before he took it off!
Giraffes, I hear you cry… in the jungle?!!! Well, although not really a jungle-dwelling animal, Oliver’s Mum mentioned that they had some cherished giraffes they were bringing in and would like to include in the photographs. Their colours really brought the whole scene to life. I was slightly nervous of them becoming covered in cake as they were a gift from Oliver’s Aunt. But fear not, they went home as clean as Oliver did after the splash part of his session.

Jungle Cake Smash
I really loved creating Oliver’s jungle cake smash. But each of my Cake Smash & Splash sessions is bespoke to my client’s wishes. I have created smashes set in woodlands, outer space, over the rainbow and under the sea. And that’s only a few of the many that have been imagined in the Samphire studio.
