I do love cake smash photography, it is such a fun time in the Samphire studio. And whether your child enjoys the pre-smash pictures, the smash itself or the clean-up bath afterwards, there is always ample opportunity to capture some wonderful images of this happy time.
Enchanting Elizabeth was one of three cousins that all came in to the Samphire studio for a cake smash photography session, and they all wanted a floral theme. However, it was important to make sure that each had a specific, bespoke style to the session, tailored to Mum & Dad’s individual requirements. Elizabeth’s mum had requested “a woodland feel but with a more girly touch, with flowers,” so we opted for silver birch ‘trees’ with hydrangea and blossoms. Mum had expertly chosen the perfect outfit for this little lady, as you can see, her pretty blue floral dress harmonised beautifully with our chosen look.
Cakes are always tailored in to fit with the theme of the session too, and freshly made to order by my local baker Mrs B Bakes. This natural, ‘naked’ cake is perfect to co-ordinate with the feminine, woodland styling. Delightful Elizabeth was happy to get stuck in with the smash part of her celebratory shoot, and enjoyed the yummy eating part too. I had a lot of fun taking these photographs and think she had a lot of fun too. What a gorgeous, smiley girl!
